CommWell Health (CWH) is a proud partner with UNC Physician’s Network (UNCPN) to offer the CWH / UNC Infectious Disease Program.

The CWH / UNC Infectious Disease Program currently treats HIV/AIDS. CommWell Health primary care providers screen for other infectious disease and refer to other ID Specialists as needed.

The providers at the CWH/UNC Infectious Disease Program are committed to providing the highest quality of HIV care and treatment. Since 1997, CommWell Health has received funding support from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program to serving women, infants, children, youth, and men living with HIV.

HIV care and treatment are offered at CommWell Health Smithfield.

For patients who enroll in the CWH / UNC ID Program, the program offers a fully integrated HIV patient centered health home. Services include:

  • Primary and specialty HIV medical care
  • Dental
  • Behavioral Health (mental health and substance abuse treatment)
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Pharmacy
  • Medical Case Management
  • HIV Testing and Prevention Education
  • Treatment Adherence
  • Support Groups / Peer Support
  • Transportation
  • Free and confidential HIV testing is offered at all CommWell Health medical locations. Walk-ins and appointments for HIV testing is welcome.
