CommWell Health (CWH) is a proud partner with UNC Physician’s Network (UNCPN) to offer the CWH / UNC Infectious Disease Program.

The CWH / UNC Infectious Disease Program currently treats HIV/AIDS. CommWell Health primary care providers screen for other infectious disease and refer to other ID Specialists as needed.

The providers at the CWH/UNC Infectious Disease Program are committed to providing the highest quality of HIV care and treatment. Since 1997, CommWell Health has received funding support from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program to serving women, infants, children, youth, and men living with HIV.

HIV care and treatment are offered at CommWell Health Smithfield.

For patients who enroll in the CWH / UNC ID Program, the program offers a fully integrated HIV patient centered health home. Services include:

Primary and specialty HIV medical care
Dental
Behavioral Health (mental health and substance abuse treatment)
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Pharmacy
Medical Case Management
HIV Testing and Prevention Education
Treatment Adherence
Support Groups / Peer Support
Transportation
Free and confidential HIV testing is offered at all CommWell Health medical locations. Walk-ins and appointments for HIV testing is welcome.
